Growing up in the hives, Cricket has always had a million questions. Why are trees forbidden, even in art? Why do her parents seem to hate her? And the biggest, most dangerous and secret question of all: why is Cricket immune to Queen Wasp's powers? Whenever the queen takes control of all the HiveWings, speaking through their mouths and seeing through their eyes, Cricket has to hide, terrified of being discovered. Now she's hiding again, wanted for stealing the Book of Clearsight along with her new SilkWing friends, Blue and Swordtail, and the fierce LeafWing, Sundew. The fugitives need answers, and fast, in order to prevent a LeafWing attack. But Cricket has more questions than ever. How can she stay hidden and discover the queen's deadliest secret? And if she does succeed--can a powerless dragonet really do anything to topple a regime and stop a war?

I LOVE this book and this series, and think that it's getting oh-so-close-to-home now.
SPIOLER ALLERT!!!
I LOVE how all the dragons in this arc so far are MEDICALLY COMPLEX, which makes me feel so connected. Also, that this is a dystopia showing CORRUPT GOVERNMENT, which feels so real with the current situation.
And...............most of all.......................THIS BOOK SHOWS THAT VACCINES ARE NOT ALWAYS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE, AND ADVOCATES FOR MEDICAL FREEDOM!!!!!!!!
Recommend this book series to anyone who feels that they need to find their place and destiny in this world.

PS: a few things for your information
1) I am neutral on the Sundew/Willow relationship
2) I am NOT an anti-vaxer. just a medical freedom advocate
3) Sundew/Bumblebee reminds me of Mando/TheChild

Just finished this book and was amazed how gripping, interesting, and relatable it is! Cricket is the best dragon in all the hives and I totally ship Blue and Cricket...
She's smart, curious, and extremely kind with a mind consistently buzzing with questions. If I were her I could definitely see why see likes reading monkeys.

Another great book! I love how tui is able to make you see both sides of the argument. On the one hand you realize how the leafwings feel they need to avenge their ancestors, on the other you see that starting the tree wars all over again is not a good idea, either. I swear, it's amazing how good this series is. WE LOVE YOUR BOOKS, TUI! KEEP EM' COMING!

Amazing book! It is very clever how Tui twists the expected storyline you would find in any other series. It is one of the only book series I positively enjoy reading! I read a lot of books so I often find myself guessing what will happen next and it ruins the book. But this is written in a whole new way, making it the best series I know!
