A delightful series about a doctor from India and his wife trying to adjust to life in a small Welsh coal mining village.

Decent enough but really not much more than a time-killer when you have nothing else to watch. Very shallow. Also, no subtitles so we really only got maybe 75% of what was said. That being said, we have series 2 on the way and will watch it but also notice it does not seem to have subtitles either. Bummer.

I loved season 1 and 2 of this quaint series, and am looking forward to seeing season 3 when it comes in. What a great premise, the immigrant doctor and his wife arrive in smalltown Wales to set up a surgery in 1964. Loved the accents, the acting, storyline, scenery and the quality of the video. Just outstanding in my opinion.

Great series. A doctor from India immigrates to Wales to take a position in a small Welsh coal mining town in 1963. The doctor's wife wants to move to London, but the Indian doctor is enjoying the Welsh town. It is a two sided story about culture clash. The Indian wife befriends a 12 year old boy and they get into some trouble together. The doctor has to hear about everyone's problems - physical, mental, and emotional. The previous doctor left some documentation about his concern for the health of the local miners who are dying of lung disease, but a local official is more concerned about the health of the town. Interesting series, only lasted 3 seasons.

Dr. Sharma is the friendly and progressive doctor we would all like to have. In this series he has to fight prejudice, ignorance, and indifference to the danger of black-lung in a Welsh coaltown. Actually, his wife played by Ayesha Dharker really steals most of the scenes she's in. She's not convinced that Wales is really where they should be-- London is more her style. Looking forward to series 2

Absolutely charming, My late mother lived in a small village in South Wales and she had an Indian doctor, who was eventually accepted as one of the "boyos"!

Really enjoyed this drama; think it is very good for family viewing. Heart-warming stories and very good acting.
