I’m sure you have heard of the hit book and movie series “The Maze Runner”, if you haven’t this is your sign. “The Maze runner” is a type of dystopian novel that focuses on a society that is suffering. The book starts out with Thomas waking up in an elevator going up, but where to, the maze. When he reaches the top he becomes surrounded by boys who are strangers. Thomas only remembers his name and nothing else, same with the boys. All of the boys are surrounded by towering stone walls that surround the glade, which is where all of the boys are. The only way out is going through the maze and no one has ever survived a night in it. Suddenly a girl arrives, the only girl, and it turns out she is the last person to ever come up again. This novel is one of my favorites for the reason that you are constantly in suspense of what is going to happen. There is honestly nothing that I don’t like about this book. If you enjoy reading this book there are 4 more so you are in luck. Also the movies are directed by the author himself which is very abnormal.

In this story set in a hypothetical science fiction setting, the plot centers around a boy named Thomas who mysteriously appears in front of a giant labyrinth. People of similar unknown origin accompany him, and they must solve the maze to find an escape route. Knowledge of the maze is severely limited, emphasizing the horrors and lack of certainty “runners” experience while running in the maze. Readers interested in dystopian novels or puzzle-solving plots will be captivated by such.

This series is a refreshing take on the YA trope of a dystopian society, in which a young teenage boy named Thomas is dropped off in a maze without his memory or any indication of who he is. He soon discovers that the same has happened to a variety of other boys, who are also trapped in this maze and have formed a society of sorts. He becomes a Runner in the society, one of the most perilous jobs, for he must attempt to navigate the maze filled with dangerous creatures and unknown circumstances. however, the situation becomes much more complicated when Teresa, the first girl in the maze, is delivered in the box. Soon, their entire mini-civilization falls apart as more dangerous and mysterious events begin occurring. Thomas and his friends work to uncover the strange circumstances around their arrival in the maze and how to get out.

I thought that this was a fun read, especially if you do have an interest in dystopian societies. It is almost reminiscent of the Lord of the Flies with its main plot point about a group of boys struggling to survive in an unknown area. The plot was always intriguing, and I was drawn to all of the characters with all of their well-developed personalities. What I especially liked was that it was not first and foremost a love story; instead, it focused on the situation and made it as realistic as possible in a fictional setting like a strange, almost sentient, maze. It has a great balance between the humorous and the tragic, contrasting the death of some of the young boys with the humor of the dialogue.

I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys YA novels such as The Hunger Games or Divergent. It’s a great, light read for someone who wants to escape the troubles of their own life and delve into that of a teenage boy searching for answers.

The Maze runner is a very thrilling story. A kid named Thomas arrives in a glade where few other people are already there. He is completely lost and has no memories from his past. The Glade is inside a huge maze that he, and others must solve. There are also horrific creatures that come out at night and try to kill all the people in the Glade. While Thomas is getting used to this new setting, he realizes he recognizes the Glade - in fact he helped create it. With this sudden burst of information from the back of his head he tells everyone he knows a way out from the maze. Some are hesitant while others immediately join him as they try to fight their way out of this dystopian society. At points I did have to power read when the author was setting up the scene, or when the story moved slow. I still highly recommend this book for people who love thrillers, and are 9+. There were a lot of moments in this story where hope was created, and lost, but it makes the story more realistic. The movie is great to watch if you read the book.

Thomas wakes up in the lift. He cannot remember anything but his name. He soon finds himself surrounded by a bunch of boys. The boys are surrounded and trapped by tall stone walls that construct a maze. No one has ever escaped the maze alive. Soon after Thomas spends some time with the other boys, the first girl arrives to deliver a message: "Remember. Survive. Run." Thomas and others must find a way to escape the maze alive. Will they be able to do it? This book was very entertaining because of the unique concept of the story. How the boys are affected by the scary message spikes their adrenaline and forces them to think hard about how they can leave the maze, adding to the plot of the story. The interactions between the boys add to how entertaining the book was, making it a great read.

16-year old Thomas wakes alone in an elevator, no memories except his name. When the doors open, he finds himself in the Glade, met by other boys who came before also without memories. Thomas soon breaks the number one rule, finding himself outside the Glade's massive stone doors and inside the Maze at night. Can Thomas find his way out of the maze back to his memories, back to his life? Does he want to find out what is on the other side? Fans of Hunger Games will enjoy this fast paced adventure as well as the entire series.

I really enjoyed this book when I was younger. I didn't stop reading until I had finished reading the series!

The Maze Runner is a young adult dystopian novel written by author James Dashner. The book follows Thomas, a teen who finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of the Glade, an area filled with boys who are trapped in the center of a gigantic ever-changing maze with no recollection of their past or the world they came from. All they know are their names. Everything changes when the first girl ever arrives. Told through the point of view of the main character Thomas, the reader is similarly in the dark regarding the maze and why the boys are placed there, adding a sense of mystery and intrigue. Dashner crafts a well-written story that captures the reader’s attention. Although its themes are surface level and lack sufficient depth to make it truly great, The Maze Runner is still an exciting read, leaving off with the reader wanting more.

The Maze Runner is a science fiction trilogy by James Dashner. Thomas, the main character, wakes up in a dark elevator with no memories of anything. The next second, the door opens and he sees a group of boys his age surrounding him in a place with four high concrete walls covered by ivy. After a few days, Thomas discovered that there is a maze beyond the walls and they’re stuck in it. Thomas quickly becomes one of the Runners, whose job is to explore the maze everyday until they find a way our. Throughout the plot, it is illustrated that a group of boys discover the unknown and challenges they faced. This is so far my favorite novel and kept me on tenterhooks. Each chapter ends with revealing a surprising fact that leaves me in suspense. This book would be the perfect selection for everyone who enjoys reading science fiction novels.

The maze runner invokes the gripping tale of several teenagers who arrive in the middle of a giant labyrinth via lift, with no memory on how or why they got there. Our main lead features a teenager named Thomas, who's a newcomer to the eerie situation. But between these teenagers, they only suffer one goal, and that's to escape. You'll have to read the book if you want to see whether they escape or not! The plot only thickens, and the tension of some scenes put you at the edge of your seat! I've read this book three times, and not once has this book ever disappointed me. If you happen to enjoy it, consider reading the sequels!

It is set in the future where mankind needs saving from a horrible disaster that has turned humans into monsters. Now scientists use children to figure out how to save the human race. Great book!
