Add a CommentBefore I say anything else, I should say that when I read the title “X-men: Legacy,” I thought this book was going to be about one of more teams of X-men, not a single member. But hey, I can’t complain with the final product. Rogue’s character arc is interesting; seeing her deal with where she is now and how’s she’s gotten there as well as where she wants to go from here on out. There isn’t much actual Avengers VS X-Men action, but the book has enough of the right kind of content to keep it connected to the main story. Which reminds me, I also liked the story arc of this book as well as Rogue’s new look. It, and this book, suit her. I have enjoyed this graphic novel more than the others I have read recently. 9 out of 10. @R2-D2 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
Once I got through the first few pages, glad I stuck it out! The battle with Exodus was pretty cool. Well written and aptly illustrated. Worth a look.
A new writer for the series takes things in a different direction, with Rogue still as the core character, one of the teachers at the Jean Grey school. Gage works both with a core group of mutants quite well, and the periphery characters appearing in other titles along the way. He's a good storyteller, and it shows in the way he works with the complicated personal dynamics between these characters, respecting their history. Having a villain like Exodus appear certainly is welcome.
