Waste of time...just doesnt hold up well compared to his previous series. Those That Remain and The Guns of the South are far superior.
Harry repeats the same action sequences frequently throughout this entire series and it begins to wear on the reader.

Pretty good imagination of events, as usual. On the whole, most of the major plot lines are predictable given the circumstances and the title. Turtledove has also gotten in the habit of being very repitative in his analysis of characters. For example, its already been made clear that the Czeck character has stereotypical views of Jews that conflicts with what he sees in Halevy- he doesn't need to keep writing about it as much as he does. Also, many of the advertising thrill points in the summary are hardly mentioned or don't even occur.

Women are crazy, you know? You can't live with 'em and you sure as hell can't live without 'em.
