Add a CommentA lot of historical inaccuracies. For the facts, it's best to consult a book. Farmland in the Tug Fork Valley was poor. It was a struggle to raise and feed a family. None of the television miniseries characters look like they've missed a meal. As for the feud, the worst of the participants can be considered thugs with guns. What the television miniseries shows is the sanitized version of the Hatfields & McCoys. I would rate the television miniseries at 3.0 stars.
TRUE STORY
After the Cival War these two family went at each other even more. Keven Costner & Bill Paxton in it
4hrs.+ What a giant bore.
Very well produced and acted. A very interesting piece of history. Worth the time!
They're both nuts, it was a very accurate portrayal of the story. They had to cover many years and did a very good job of it. They could've went deeper into the story and I wish they would've, but that would've made for a much much longer production. I give it TWO thumbs up.
This is a long drawn out story of petty misunderstandings and lack of anything better to do than stew over the past and drink bad brew. I can't believe this is considered a classic. What a bunch of uneducated fools.
It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.
Great supporting cast but I have to agree with the comments below. It was way too loooong. Fast forwarded a lot.
This mini series is awesome. Hard to believe that this was based on history.
Long, drawn out film with little intrigue. I stopped watching half way through the second disc.
