Amazing book. I absolutely love the storyline and characters. Charles De Lint is a marvelous writer. I recommend this for anyone who likes fantasy. (The book might be a little tought for kids 9 and under.)

This was my first time reading a book by Charles De Lint and adored his style. I will definitely be reading more of him.

Such a wonderful story, please read it!

Lillian Kindred loves to explore the rolling hills of Tanglewood Forest. She is sure there are fairies hiding somewhere within the beautiful Tanglewood trees. The last thing Lillian expects is that she will be turned into a kitten by a group of cats trying to save her life! In order to set things right, Lillian must travel deeper into the forest than she has ever gone before. Ages 6-12.

Beautiful illustrations reminiscent of Arthur Rackham--
Truly enchanting with classic folktale motifs. The question is, did Lillian learn a lesson? She seemed to respect most creatures, but why did she defy the Bear People, and risk angering them for the future? In some ways, Lillian is very selfish and arrogant...not taking advice which is given, and continually trying to have her cake and eat it too.

A truly delightful book, with beautiful illustrations. Highly recommend for 8-years and up.

This was a charming story of a young girl who is changed into a kitten to save her life. The illustrations were done by Charles Vess, a talented artist. I like how Lillian remains strong and is able to grow as a character while she searches for a way to become human again. Cats of Tanglewood Forest is one of my favorite De Lint books.
