Not that bad but not as good as the first one. I could see the big plot twist (don't worry I won't spoil it) from a mile away. But it's good otherwise.

Fun movie. Goofy and sweet, was a good time!

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs was an interesting first take and now we have a sequel to a story of innovative scientists, a craze for food, and a heist worth watching for. Flint Lockwood is as good role model for kids, because he is the epitome of never giving up and reaching for your dreams. After saving his town from the food storms his machine created, Flint is planning for the future as an aspiring scientist alongside his town friends. But everything changes when “LIVE corp.” arrives on the island for a “clean up” and forces everyone to evacuate; but Flint is called elsewhere. Chester V, ultra-science guru and Flint’s childhood hero (and creator of the delicious bars that aligned with Flint’s childhood), has taken a keen interest in Flint’s invention and is now opting to “enhance his talents”. But not everything is as it seems, and a secret plan is hidden between the layers of LIVE and Chester V’s antics. Flint’s machine has survived and is now thriving whole ecosystems of food animals (foodimals!). Flint and his crew are back to save the day; but this movie gives a good glimpse into the reality that not everything others say to do is the right decision. Sometimes you have to look beyond the surface and into the heart to see what is correct and who really needs to be saved. A great movie!

Heartwarming and goofy, this kid's movie has humor for all ages, lovable characters, and themes of self-esteem, creativity, and responsibility that resonate through their simple presentation. Also, how fun is it to imagine food falling from the sky!? Inventor Flint Lockwood finds himself the object of the town's adoration after one of his inventions--a machine that makes it rain food--works beyond expectations: but does bigger and more always mean better?

This a fantastic, lighthearted animated movie great for all ages. Flint Lockwood is an enthusiastic young boy who invents things, even though his father is not impressed with his inventions. He lives on a small island in the Atlantic that is not doing well. Flint comes up with an invention that he thinks will save the town from eating boring sardines. A machine that can makes food out of water. It was very funny throughout the whole movie. Every character was unique and funny in there own way. It’s the kind of movie that is great for young kids but teenagers and parents will still enjoy it too. I really liked his sidekick Steve. It’s a great family movie worth watching. The movie “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” has a child-friendly, original, and fun premise. It’s very simple: food falls out of the sky. Flint Lockwood, a scientist, invents a machine that makes it rain food! The mayor decides to use his machine to help the city, but it turns out to be a disaster. The machine goes haywire and the island is flooded with food. In the place of a natural disaster, you have a giant spaghetti tornado wreaking havoc! Overall, it is a very enjoyable movie and is great to watch with your family, especially with young kids.

This is an amazing movie. It is based around a scientist named Flint Lockwood, who builds a machine that converts water into food, and becomes a local hero when tasty treats fall from the sky like rain. But when the machine spins out of control and threatens to bury the whole world under giant mounds of food, Flint finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew. Watch the movie to find out what happens. My favourite part would have to be the scenes where Flint does all those experiments on his dad.This movie is a very sweet and funny movie. What the movie lacks in similarity with its book counterpart, it excels in wholesome family fun! So what Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs the movie is not like its book, that should not judge if it is good or not. I mean sure, it would have been nice to have some more elements of the book, like having cream cheese and jelly sandwiches rain down, or have the people of Swallow Falls find a new island, but what we got was pretty nice. Plus, there are so much good parts of the movie that the book does not have. Like Brent change from a bully to a buddy when everyone starts hatting him at the end of the movie, and protection of Flint and Sam when man eating chickens start chasing them. It was also great having the relationship between Flint and his dad throughout the movie, from the two not presenting how they feel to one another in the beginning, to them finally saying they love each other by the end of the movie. So much love there! So if you like food, and cartoons, I totally recommend Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. 4/5. @BooksRUs of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

This movie's great. Like you'd expect from any other modern, wide-release cartoon, it's filled with tongue-in-cheek and meant-for-grownups humor and peppered with lots of fun, silly moments for younger kids.

Not as good as the first one, but this is a cute sequel with colorful animation sure to make your eyes pop and a sweet ride for even the little ones. The characters are so funny and intriguing you can't help but laugh at least once. ;P Oh, and lemme say that the credits song is really cute...

When budding scientist Flint Lockwood tries to help his small island community recover from an economic slump by inventing a machine that turns water into food, no one is prepared for the dire gastronomic consequences which follow. Launching his invention into the atmosphere Flint is hailed as a hero by the people of Swallow Falls who are delighted to have pizzas and sundaes rain from the sky, not to mention the millions they stand to make from curious tourists. But the town's greedy mayor decides that more is better and before you can yell "Alka Seltzer" he's pushed Flint's machine beyond its capacity resulting in a mighty edible hurricane of giant mutated victuals that not only threatens the island, but the entire world as well. Based on the children's book this is one of the cleverest and at time laugh out loud funny animated features I've seen since Despicable Me 2 had me chuckling non-stop. Filled with food-oriented sight gags, Hollywood jabs, and witty one-liners (not to mention a well deserved send-up of network sexism) this is one to delight the entire family. The formula may be familiar (failed achiever redeems self, gets the girl etc. etc.) but rarely has it been (re)told with such colourful ingenuity. Besides, where else can you see a talking monkey battle with carnivorous gummy bears on the wings of a speeding jet plane?

The original gang is back in this slightly too cute but nevertheless entertaining sequel. This time around über-dork Flint Lockwood has been recruited by television science guru Chester V who, along with a small army of mega geeks and personalized holograms, runs the fabulous “Live Corp Company” an institution devoted to the advancement of science. Flint’s assignment, return to the island community of Swallow Falls and deactivate his malfunctioning invention which turns water into food before the planet is overrun by mutated menu items. But there are two major obstacles in Flint’s path: first of all Swallow Falls is now an overgrown jungle inhabited by fearsome “food animals” (shrimpanzees, watermelophants, and wildebeets….oh my!); secondly, the great Chester V has a few diabolical plans of his own for Flint’s odd invention. Can Flint and company save the Earth yet again or will we all fall prey to a mad scientist and/or armies of toothsome appetizers? The premise may be rehashed, and the adorable factor turned up a notch (“Berry” the strawberry coos like a toddler and poops jelly) but the underlying wit and visual gags remain largely the same…especially those candy-coloured nods to Jurassic Park. You’ll never look at your cupboard shelves the same way again.

Must be just me. I liked the first movie. I thought this story was far fetched.
