Mad respect to the cataloger who added the 650 "Spoons -- drama" to the local record.

The best movie ever to exist. The director and the main actor, Tommy Wiseau, is a being beyond mortal. He has descended to a higher being, no movie can be so good without alien help. This movie will change your life. Rent this movie, if you don't believe me, than let the movie speak to you. I will give you a taste of the movie to you, here are a couple of lines from the movie.

[Open scene showing the rooftop of the apartment complex]
[We see Johnny (Tommy Wiseau) open the door to the roof]

Johnny : It's not true!
Johnny: It's bullshit!
Johnny: I did not hit her!
[Throws water bottle to the ground angrily]
Johnny: I did nawt
Johnny : oH hAi MaRk

RENT THIS MOVIE, YOUR LIFE IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT IT

So so so bad. So so so bad that it is funny. Watch it with a group of friends and some alcohol and the jokes will fly!

Worst movie ever? Hardly. Jerry Lewis and Bob Hope made worse. The Room is unintentionally funny.
Tommy Wiseau also made an attempt at series TV, The Neighbors. I made a MCL purchase request for the DVD.

What the people below can't appreciate, is the fact that this IS IN FACT a terrible movie. Whether or not Tommy Wiseau meant for it to be a good film or not, this is so funny to watch if you have the right sense of humor. Also, to truly appreciate this movie, you need to go to a screening. See here: http://www.the-losthighway.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/The-Room-Audience-Participation.pdf

That is how I first experienced The Room. And let me tell you, it's nothing short of an experience! So please don't be fooled by the comments below. While 1/2 star is what this movie technically deserves, please understand that it's got a very special appeal.

What is truly amazing is how terrible every element of this movie is, outside of the technical elements (lighting, cinematography) auteur Wiseau had no hand in. Not only is the acting terrible and the screenplay laughable, even the music and set design are ludicrously awful.

OH. MY. GOD. This movie is the worst thing I have watched and the worst I ever will. why in the world did the writer/producer/director/main actor (Tommy Wiseau) think it was a good idea to make this? its only a comedy because you laugh at how terrible it is. I would give this movie no stars if I could.

True ethernautrix, true.
Read "The Disaster Artist" for a jaw dropping insiders view of the making of this cult "bad movie" hit. (Some of course call it the "worst movie ever made", it's not, because just when you think you've reached the bottom of the barrel...)

"Black comedy" is an actual genre and not an excuse for comically bad acting in a comically-badly-written and shot "film." Calling it a comedy because people laugh uncomfortably at how awkward the dialogue and acting are is a transparent effort to save face. Half-a-star for making the movie in the first place. I can respect the effort.
