Once the coast is clear, the gang sets out on a long and dangerous journey by foot, train, and car to retrieve bank loot. After barely surviving two deadly incidents, the men take refuge in a farmhouse as the action reaches a fever pitch. Ironically, the men start to realize that it's not the law that they need to worry about, but each other.

Five escaped convicts, each so different in their own way. An interesting character study with a good script. William Bendix comes across a the most complex member of the escapees. As you can expect, these escapees may find the going tough. It is all of that and more!

Classic Film Noir at its best . Very well done. Dark, violent and gritty. A marvelous cast, in which each character's traits are carefully crafted and well-defined. Watch for pivotal culminating scene that occurs at point: 1:17:06 and gives a clue to the un-climactic ending, that again proves: there's no honor among thieves. Enjoy.

A somewhat typical film about escaped convicts dealing with evading the police while contending with each other.

The FBI doesn't spend much time in penal institutions, of which this one happens to be a model. They don't know how we think.

You want a man to go fast don't send him with a woman.
