Now, I wouldn't exactly say that this 2-disc collection of fourteen, full-color cartoons was the "Best" of Superman. No, I wouldn't.

But - Yeah. - OK. - There were certainly some worthwhile superhero cartoons in this compilation. But, with that said - I found that the complete omission of the classic "Max Fleischer" Superman cartoons from the 1940s rendered this set as being, pretty much, an incomplete collection.

IMO - You cannot call a collection of Superman cartoons the "Best" without including at least a few of them from the 1940s (which were impressively created by the "Max Fleischer" Studios).

And, so - With that in mind - I'd say that this compilation was just "OK" since its animated shorts came strictly from the years 1966-2005.

This 2-disc set offers you 14 animated episodes of Superman spanning from the latter-half of the 20th century. Most of these cartoons are very entertaining.

Well - If you ask me, I'd hardly say that the fourteen episodes contained on this 2-disc set were, in fact, "The Best" of Superman.

Yeah. OK. These action-packed episodes of superhero crime-fighting (covering the years from 1978-2005) were fairly entertaining as far as Superman cartoons go - But for me to ever consider this particular collection as being "The Best" it would've had to have also included at least a couple of episodes of Superman from the 1940s where top-notch animators, from the Max Fleischer Studios, were working directly through Paramount Pictures.

They could have gotten away with only one disc as most of the Superfriends episodes could have been avoided. Some how those cartoons are better than the Max Fleischer ones? The only good thing about some of the Superfriends episodes is that Adam West voiced Batman.

Anything with the character Superman in it is generally something I'll watch anyday. This set has a series of animated shows featuring the Man of Steel.
