This quick read has an interesting story which pivots between wartime England in the 1940s and today. After finding a diary and photos while cleaning out an estate, Cara is determined to identify the diarist. This leads her on an interesting quest which not only brings her to her goal but leads her on a journey of itself-discovery. I enjoyed reading about the women of the ATS, young women known as gunner girls who helped spot and gun down hundreds of German planes. One particular gunner girl, Louise Keene, is what the diary is all about. Good summer reading.
