The Year of Indecision, 1946

a Tour Through the Crucible of Harry Truman's America

If the author had more respect for Harry S Truman, he might have written a better book. Instead, he sneers at the man who overnight became president as unintellectual. FDR drank martinis and played bridge; Truman is a bourbon and poker man. So what? Tidbits of forgotten history: is Poujadism back?
