My Journey From Shame to Strength

Dec 28, 2016
Liz Pryor experienced what many young women did in the 60s and 70s - being sent away when they became pregnant so the shame for the family would be hidden from their community. Liz was fortunate to be loved and visited by her divorced Mother and Father during the last 5 months of pregnancy. The other young women were not so fortunate. The book is a good revelation of that. The staff at the facility warmed up to her somewhat after being aloof to most others. I was surprised by the end of the book, that at the age of 54 she has no interest in finding the child she gave up for adoption.
