This was a hard book to put down! The writing is so intriguing as you bounce between the past and preset trying to figure out why Hadley attempts suicide after surviving a plane wreck that kills her mother and father. She is placed in medical care and the story of Hadley’s life before and after the crash unfolds. As the crash investigator interviews Hadley, her friends, and the boyfriend she was forbidden to see, a violent life emerges filled with the constant threat of abuse from her father and little hope of escape. When her father’s attentions start turning towards her little sister, Hadley realizes she has no one to ask for help and must take matters into her own hands. This is a tense, page-turner that leaves you torn between wanting Hadley to get help and wanting her to do the right thing.
