The Secret History
The Secret History By Tartt, Donna Downloadable Audiobook - 2004

Although a bit over long, this is a pretty good novel of suspense. My only problem with it is the narration, which was done by the author. The novel is in the first person by a male protagonist, which creates an ongoing disconnect right off the bat. How anyone thought it was a good idea to use an untrained female voice for a story where most of the main characters are male is perplexing. And let's not whitewash here: Donna Tartt is a terrible narrator! This is the worst audio, among hundreds, that I have ever listened to. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any alternatives to Ms Tartt's annoying voice and diction.
