The complicated, fascinating story of the interconnected lives and careers of Bob Fosse, a highly talented Broadway dancer who became a celebrated choreographer and filmmaker, and Gwen Verdon, another shining Broadway talent who became his muse and his rock. A must see for the Broadway fan, this delves deep into Fosse's inner darkness and how it both fueled his greatest works and sabotaged his personal relationships. My one complaint about this otherwise outstanding production is that at times they leap across from time period to time period in a way that seems random and confusing, but at other times serves its purpose well. You also get to see the backstage blood, sweat, and tears that goes into making a successful theatre or cinematic production, and the toll that it takes on dancers and their relationships. Through all of it, Gwen stayed by Fosse's side, even as their marriage eventually crumbled. Excellent.
