Exquisitely filmed -- 1979's Hair belongs to the rare sub-genre of movies that succeed both as comedy and tragedy. Forget the bloated Amadeus -- Hair is the great Milos Forman's real masterpiece. At once wryly amusing and tender, this movie etches an indelible portrait of a time, place, and sensibility embedded deeply within the American psyche. Treat Williams and Charlotte Rae dancing on a table top, the Army personnel singing "Black boys are delicious/they are so damn yummy/they satisfy my tummy..." People, FORGET trash like La La Land and forget no-talent Emma Stone when you can bask in the young Beverly D'Angelo instead -- in point of fact, it is the unjustly unremembered Hair that will satisfy YOU, discerning viewer -- tummy, mind, and all.....
